Context

From individual products to one scalable system.

Dubai Dates is a performance nutrition brand positioned between fitness, lifestyle and premium perception.

The project evolved from individual packaging work into the development of a structured system capable of scaling across products, formats and markets.

What existed

Previous light-blue Dubai Dates packaging

The problem was not simply visual.

The existing packaging lacked a consistent information hierarchy and a clear structural logic. As the range expanded, market adaptation and production requirements became increasingly difficult to manage within one coherent system.

Not isolated design problems.

System problems.

Core direction

Confident.Strong.Balanced.

The visual language was built around a dark base, controlled contrast and a clear hierarchy.

The objective was to create a recognisable premium system with enough structure to remain consistent and enough flexibility to evolve.

From product to system

The objective was not to design individual labels.

It was to create a structured system.

A repeatable architecture allows different products, formats and markets to remain recognisably part of the same brand while accommodating different content and production requirements.

Built to scale

The wider Dubai Dates product family in the new packaging system

The system was designed to extend beyond a single product or packaging format.

Hierarchy, visual rhythm and brand recognition remain consistent while individual products retain enough flexibility for category, flavour and functional differentiation.

Format extension

The same system logic extends into different packaging proportions and production formats.

The objective is not visual repetition.

It is structural consistency.

Designed for production reality

As the system moved into real production conditions, the focus shifted from visual refinement to operational structure.

Dubai Dates master label system, full label layout with nutrition information and production specifications

The master-label system was developed to support:

  • controlled information hierarchy
  • multilingual adaptation
  • compliance-critical content
  • product variation
  • consistent visual rhythm
  • repeatable production logic

Structure before variation.

System extension: Dutella

A different product. The same need for structure.

The brief was direct:

“Make it like Nutella.”

The challenge was not to imitate another product.

It was to bring a different product type into a clearer and more coherent Dubai Dates system.

  1. 01Earlier Dubai Dates Dutella packaging showing an unclear information hierarchy.
  2. 02Intermediate Dubai Dates Dutella packaging during system refinement.
  3. 03Final Dubai Dates Dutella packaging organised within the refined brand system.

Structure defines perception.

Design as a system

Not a collection of isolated packages.

One system designed to adapt, scale and hold together.

Outcome

A system designed to work beyond presentation.

The resulting structure supports clearer communication, more controlled production, faster market adaptation and stronger consistency across an expanding product range.

  1. 01Reduced production friction
  2. 02Improved information clarity
  3. 03Safer compliance alignment
  4. 04Faster market adaptation
  5. 05Stronger brand consistency
